We have Roku 2 units. But 3 and Ultra, etc. have hardwire options. Looking at the Roku site, it looks like only their Ultra has a hardwired connection at this point, but $79 is a lot better than a laptop cost and unreliability. Apple TV works as well, plus some lesser known brands. I have not done a recent survey of units, but could certainly take another look if it would help.
