Controlling the Sony BRC-300

I was recently able to get approval to upgrade the camera at our stake center (and add a second!) - we went with a pair of used BRC-300 cameras I found on eBay for a great deal. My question now - has anybody had luck with any of the software meant for the EVI-D70? I keep getting error messages when I try to use functions like the presets, or P/T/Z with the keyboard controls. On another program, the Pan/Tilt doesn't stop moving when you release the button - it just keeps going in whatever direction you selected.
Should I try to get approval for a VISCA controller, or is there other software out there that will be more compatible with these cameras?
