portal.ldswebcast.org is down right now

The portal page is not loading. I am very glad that I am not starting a general conference stream right about now.

Is there a preferred backup method for streaming stake conferences?

Apparently there was a regional stake conference today. That would explain most any portal problem earlier today.

North America Northwest and West - two areas. Some 280 stakes by my count.

So if my stake conference is being held on the same day as a regional conference I'm just out of luck?

Reemphasizes the need to have a backup solution that doesn't involve the official SLC method - any suggestions?

Others have used PVC with good success.

I'm going to post on a separate thread some tricks/work-arounds if one encounters problems with receive sites.

Actually, the code was given out to those who were members of the Rockford stakes. They were able to watch stake conference from their own homes, while being snowed in.

That's certainly an exceptional circumstance. I assume this was a broadcast from SLC since I don't think a webcast from the stake center would be able to support that many users.
