Is there a posted matrix of default rights for an LDS Account based on MLS callings? Specifically I am trying to find out what callings are authorized to run the Webcast software by default besides the Stake Technology Specialist. I will be out of town for a webcast and need a back-up.... Thanks. Rick

This would be helpful information to add to the wiki onthis page.

Currently all it says is: "Pre-authorized callings include stake clerks and stake technology specialists among several others."

I know that Stake Presidency, Stake Exec Sec, Stake Clerk, and Stake Technology Specialist all have automatic access - I've made all of them log in to it before. But, as it notes in the wiki, you can have others request permission from the stake president through the software.

All others

Yes, it is the all others I need. Especially at ward level as the webcast I will not be available for is a ward webcast...

As far as I know, anyone with an lds account should be able to log in and run it. To me it is like activating the 881w router. As long as they have a valid account they can activate the device.

I can say with certainty that as a Ward Executive Secretary, I could not log in or run it. Might be worth it for a Bishop or Ward Clerk to try. My suspicion is only stake leaders have the permissions by default.

If you have a valid LDS Account, you can TRY to access it, but only those with certain callings will have immediate success. Others will be denied access and prompted to submit a request to the Stake President to grant access. It's then up to him whether to approve your account or not. Once approved, you're in.

It's the pre-approved callings we are trying to pin down as to exactly which ones they are.

Bishop worked!

I had my Bishop log into Meetinghouse webcast software today and it acknowledged his credentials. He will have to activate it next week in my absence. I guess we will continue by trial and error until someone "in the know" can give a listing of callings authorized to run... Thanks for all the feedback so far...

Yes - Agree with Mikerowaved - and realized my previous post was misleading... Yes. Anyone can install and run the application, but only those with authorized LDS Accounts will be able to actually log in and produce a webcast. Every other valid LDS Account is rerouted to the a "request permission from your stake president" page.
