Prior Unit information missing

I have noticed that since the update to MLS 3.4.2, the Prior Unit on membership records moved in to our ward all say United States MSR Office instead of the actual prior unit. The only place the real prior unit is shown is on the Membership Record Update Report.

This creates a tremendous amount of additional work and printouts that we must keep. In order to have the prior unit information when needed in the year ahead, we will now have to keep all of the Membership Record Update Reports and then search through them, which in the case of our ward could be over 100 pages, anytime a calling is considered or a temple recommend renewal is needed.

I've been a clerk for the last 3 years and I'm noticing a new change when membership records are moved into our ward. In the place where the prior unit is listed on the record, they now print out saying United States MSR Office instead of the last actual unit. On t he Membership Record Update Report, the actual prior unit is listed. Any reason why they stopped putting this information down on the actual membership record?

The work around we have been doing on this right now is that when a new membership record is received in the ward, we automatically write on it the prior unit information from the Membership Record Update Report. Not as great as having it already on the record, but we are working with what we have.

You can also find the correct prior unit information onlne in Clerk Resources (under member lookup).
