Not to get into a discussion about when this is/isn't a good idea here - how is it best done in MLS? (I was a ward membership clerk three times, but I used MIS then.)

The easiest way is to go to the Household Record (Membership Records > Household Record), and then click the Remove link by the person in question. You will then be prompted if you want to make a new household, move them to another household, or move them out of the unit. You choose the first option. Then you will enter new contact and address information and save. That's all there is to it.

Of course, now it's a new household, and you will want to make sure that HT leaders know about the new household and assign home teachers.
