We maintain an "Area Book" to track contact with less-active members and investigators. We've been considering an online version to allow access and update by the bishopric, ward mission leader and full time missionaries. I'd like to see this as a part of leader resources.

You can always submit suggestions by using the Submit Feedback link on lds.org.

There has been some discussion of a digital area book on the forum here and here and here, and there is a wiki page documenting a current development project (not connected to leader resources) at Digital Area Book Project.
