Wouldn't it be very useful to have a pick list that shows the names of the wards and stakes and their ID numbers to put in the associated blanks already in MLS when moving members out? If this feature is present, I do not know how to access it.

I'd think the list would either be too limited or far too long to be useful.

Unless something has changed, while it's nice to put in the new unit, it's not really necessary unless the member is going to a "specialty" ward, such as a language or singles/student ward. The new address is sufficient.

In fact it might be better if you didn't. In the past, I've been on the receiving end of records that didn't belong in my ward.

I concur with Russell, unless you are absolutely certain of the correct ward and stake, it is much better to NOT include them when moving a record out. The only time I specify the unit is when moving a record to a student or other specialty unit.

I second the agreement with Russell. Our ward boundaries were changed about 2 years ago. Some of the other wards in the stake still have an old boundary map and "force" records into our ward when their address puts them in the ward next door to us. It is especially frustrating if the member has a notation to contact the prior Bishop - when we send them out again, that linkage to the original Bishop is lost (we have a manual workaround that is a bit of pain, but functional). If you will just put the address in, the church knows what ward they should belong to.
