I sense a different question than was answered. Be assured that your son will have the funds provided by his mission office that he needs, whether or not the contribution location is resolved.

That said though, it is important to determine that the proper ward is responsible for sending the monthly ward missionary allocation to Church headquarters and that contributions are in order there. But that will not affect your missionary son as he serves.

Just curious. Did your son submit his missionary paperwork through a student ward (working closely with the Bishop there) or through your "home ward"? Was he in your home ward when he received his mission call? If a student ward was involved then it's entirely possible that the student ward is currently on the hook for the monthly ward mission fund deduction. It seems to happen often but the good news is that it's very easily corrected. The Bishops talk to each other and agree to transfer the responsibility to the "home ward" and then someone calls church headquarters to request the change.

That's certainly the most common error.

Probably best for the ward receiving the obligation, since CHQ would have to confirm that they will accept it.
