Class Rolls filters not working

I had to manually remove 60 youth from the Sunday School class even though there is a filter that defines this class.

If I reset an individual person's classes that worked on the individual record, but when I went to view the class that person was still there.

Resetting ALL classes is just a pain and I'll never do that again (I backed up before I started and restored from that backup to fix it). Should be a way to validate the rolls or attempt to apply the current filters to all existing classes without having to revert to the original class.

I couldn't find much on this issue here, has anyone else noticed this?
