What is Meetinghouse Webcast?

Meetinghouse Webcast is the official solution for local units of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to broadcast meetings over the Internet. Webcast technology provides an alternative to travel for stake conferences, regional conferences, firesides, and training meetings.

In February 2009, the Church released the Meetinghouse Webcast Communicator. The Communicator includes the hardware and software to encode and send a webcast stream. To meet the needs of those with custom hardware configurations, the Church has released a software-only solution for use on Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, or 7.

I can't sign in

I used my LDS account to try to sign in (I use it on lds.org and other sites, so I know it's valid), and I couldn't sign in. I thought I might have my password wrong, so I reset my password, and then after that I still can't log in. My LDS Account username is yacoubean, if that helps.

Is there going to be a platform agnostic version? I'm running OSX 10.6, so this doesn't work for me unless I get VMWare or Parallels. I'd like to run it natively, if possible.

Try using this link: https://webcast.ldschurch.org/ClientDow ... lient.aspx. I edited the link in Cassie's original post.

That works.

Authorized Users?

The License Agreement, (yes, some people actually read those), is very restrictive in who can install the software. 1. I'm not any of the people listed, and 2. I'm not "authorized" by management or stake leadership to install it. If it is available to the LDSTech community, shouldn't there be an exclusion clause?

Authorized Users. Meetinghouse Webcast is only to be installed by (a) leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (“Church”), namely general authorities (including prophets, apostles, members of the Presiding Bishopric, and seventies) and local authorities (including area authority seventies, mission presidents, and stake/district presidents); (b) by Church members who are expressly authorized to do so by a general authority or by one of their local authorities (e.g., their stake/district president); or (c) by Church employees who are expressly authorized by their management to install Meetinghouse Webcast. Accordingly, You certify that You are (a) a general authority or a local authority; (b) that a general authority or one of Your local authorities (e.g., Your stake/district president) has expressly authorized You to install Meetinghouse Webcast; or (c) that You are a Church employee who has been expressly authorized by Your management to install Meetinghouse Webcast. You further agree that You will only install Meetinghouse Webcast on Church-approved computers, meaning Church-owned and/or personal computers that have been expressly approved for use with Meetinghouse Webcast by a general authority or by one of Your local authorities.

Even if you did install it, the software checks upon startup that you are authorized to use it. See the User Guide. The post here was probably to give it wider visibility among authorized users (Stake Technology Specialists, etc.)
