Who has the primary responsibility to update callings/positions in MLS

Is there any official policy or training that indicates who has the main responsibility to keep callings/positions entered and updated in MLS?

Or is it up to the bishop to choose to have his exec sec. or ward clerk etc... to update callings/positions?

I know of no official guidance -- it's up to the bishop. In our stake, we have at least one ward where the executive secretary does it, some where the ward clerk does it, and others where a membership clerk does it.

As with almost all clerking responsibilities, the important thing is to have good communication so that someone is assigned to cover the particular responsibility (and generally it's good to have someone assigned for backup when the person with primary stewardship is away).
