New Move-in Report - issue with lack of content

As a newly called Ward Clerk, and looking at the current MLS reports from the perspective as a former EQ president (I served in the days of MIS), I'm wondering if I'm correctly understanding the purpose of the New Move-in Report.

After talking with our various organization leaders, most do not find the report content very helpful. This is mainly due to the lack of children's info for the YM/YW and Primary, and the spouse's details for the RS. We now only use the report to identify new families, then generate the Household Report for each of the families and provide that to the organization leaders. It would be nice if this option, or something similar, were available when generating the report. It would also be nice if their former ward and city/state were included.

Yep, this report is just to update the Ward Council on move-ins at a household level.

The only way I know of getting the prior ward info is from printing the households records.

During our Bishopric meeting I provide the members of the Bishopric a copy of the move-in / move-out list combined on one piece of paper, and enough copies for the leaders of each organization that needs that info.

From the I provide the new membership record to the Bishop and allow him to make assignments and inform the leadership through PPI and PEC meetings about the members.

It is important to not get so DATA happy. These are peoples lives we are dealing with. The experience
they have in the ward is based a lot on how we use this data. We can build or destroy with this information.

The Bishop is the keepers of the Keys.
