Branch to Ward changes

#1

Post by lorraine1950 »

A Branch in our Stake was recently made a Ward. However, MLS won't allow the ward clerk to record the bishopric, or certain other callings as it doesn't recognize the unit as a ward.
How do we change the unit in MLS so it is recognized as a ward rather than a Branch?

You can't make this change in MLS. It has to be done by Church Headquarters, and then the change is transmitted to MLS.

If it is taking longer than you think it should, contact Local Unit Support to make sure the change is underway and to get an estimate of when it will be effective.

Thanks. Should I, butt't Stake Clerk, contact LUS, or have the Ward Clerk do it? What's protocol?

Clerk support prefers ward clerks talk to stake clerks and, if the issue still can't be resolved, the stake clerk contacts clerk support.
