Roadmap for MLS ? Open Sourcing MLS ?

I've noticed that for a lot of Open-Source Projects,
the developers have released a roadmap of the
goals of features and fixes that are being worked
on, and approximate dates to reach these goals.
Any chance that such a roadmap for MLS or other
projects will make it onto ldstech.org ?
Also, is there any truth to the rumor that MLS
will be open-sourced either fully or partially -
i.e. the transmission or encryption parts being
left obscured, but everything else opened up ?
If open-sourced, perhaps major point versions
could be worked on by the main development
for the major fixes or feature-adds, while the
community produces minor point releases that
include fixes for things that aren't deemed so
critical by the Utah team. Of course, a roadmap
could help prevent overlap, and since everything
is open-source, any improvements made by the
community minor point revisions could be rolled
into the major point revisions that would be sent
to the units.
Thanks,
