Hi,
I am hoping that I can get some instruction in regards to when 2 persons (a married couple) pay tithing together. The tithing slip that is submitted has both their names on it and one total amount for the both of them.
Is this ok to do? I thought that the donation should be assigned to at least one Membership Record Number.
Thanks,
Daniel

Not only should be assigned, but has to be assigned to one or the other. You can list both names on the receipts and reports, and they will both get credit at tithing settlement time, but a donation is attached to only one MR number.dprebble wrote:I thought that the donation should be assigned to at least one Membership Record Number.

Re: Donor details
If the donors are members then, yes, you should assign the donation to one of them. You should not create a non-member donor record with both of them listed.
I generally use the first one listed if it's the first time they've donated in the ward. Otherwise I use whichever one already has a donor record. However, in that case it is probably a good idea to go to their donor record and click the box to include the spouses name on the donation statements since they obviously consider it a joint donation.

Re: Donor details
We have a Sister in our Ward who has been making donations on line. Those donations are not being shown on her "Donor Statement of Contributions" with her MRN. However she provided me with a printout of her personal account showing that those donations are being recorded under a "CUBS" number. I'm not sure what is going on. Is there anyway I can get the donations to show on one account?

I'm not sure what you mean by a CUBS number, but I suspect she has been making donations with a LDS Account that does not have her membership record number recorded in the account. A member LDS Account will show the MRN rather than some other system created number for nonmembers. Additionally a member printed report will include the stake and ward names and numbers.Framptonaz wrote: However she provided me with a printout of her personal account showing that those donations are being recorded under a "CUBS" number.
If she has been making donations with a nonmember LDS Account she can go into her LDS Account settings and add the MRN to change the account to a member account.
