Here's the message I'm getting:

"The following error occurred while accessing the database attempting to verify the user and password.

com.pointbase.me.jdbc.jdbcSQLException: Wrong cipher or version

This is a serious problem that will prevent you from logging in.

[Ljava.long.Object; @84f566 has tried unsuccessfully to restore your database. You will need to restore your database from a backup copy before you can proceed."

I have already tried the solution for "Lost or corrupted user name list in MLS" here:Any ideas???

Shawn,

If you have a reliable backup, I would suggest that you remove the MLS software completely by doing an un-install. Then reboot and re-install the mls program. If you still have problems, I'd suggest that you contact your Stake Technical Specialist and have him assist. It may require a phone call to the Clerks Support Desk in SLC to resolve this.

I couldn't follow the link to see exactly what you were supposed to try. I do know that MLS keeps some internal backups and that you can probably fix it by renaming the current database and copying back an older version. For some reason, the most recent backup may be also corrupted. You may have to keep trying different versions until you find the un-corrupted one. Naturally, you shouldn't restore an internal backup that's older then your own manual backup.

If you can't find one, then you're probably looking at restore from a backup you've made.

Can't log in, what should I do? The usernames were deleted, and I can't do the clerk duty stuff because of it.

Try this: Lost user names (MLS).

I have recently received a new computer for the ward, and when trying to install the new MLS system, seem to have locked myself out of it. I can get myself into the old MLS on the old computer though. I seemed to have locked myself out. What should I do? Uninstall and reinstall?

Many thanks, Raymond Bell (Edinburgh Ward Clerk)
