Corrupt Database?

About two weeks ago, after we transmitted finance to CHQ, our MLS database seems to have been corrupted. The tithes and offerings data for one member completely disappeared and our Primary rolls are all messed up.

Anyone else experience this problem or know of a solution?

There's a few different things that you could try, but for these kinds of things I'd suggest you start with a call to clerk support. Otherwise there's a risk that things could get worse.

The first thing I would try is to restore a current database backup. This forces MLS to rebuild the indexes, and could cure some kinds of problems.

You could consider restoring a backup that predates the problem, but of course that would require you to reenter all the donation batches and any other changes made to MLS after the time that backup was made -- that doesn't sound like fun. But if you haven't done a ton of work in MLS, that might be a reasonable approach.

Before you do that, you might want to call Clerk Support. If the database is truly corrupted, they have a means whereby they can set a flag in MLS so that your database will be transmitted to Clerk Support; they can then examine and hopefully fix it, and then transmit it back to you. Of course, that process takes longer than the few hours you have left in the work week, so you'd be faced with getting through another Sunday limping along as you have the last couple of weeks.
