Local Mission Contributions from Another Ward

Local Mission Contributions from Another Ward
We have a case where soomeone in another Ward made a contributribution to go to a missionary in our Ward. We got a notice that the contribution had been made and that we needed to adjust our MLS to account for it; but how is this done? It can't go into donations since the money has already been donated in another Ward. Does the money just appear in our local Mission account and we add an entry like the Missionary Expense entries with a reference number (but a negative amount to show that it is a credit?) Any help would be appreciated.

This is a new one on me. Did this notice come from CHQ or did it come from the other ward?
If it came from CHQ, then a call to clerk support might be in order to make sure the adjustment is done correctly.

And by the way, you can't create negative Expense entries, so that technique won't work.

Letters regarding donations in kind come from CHQ. It really doesn't matter if the donation comes from a member of your ward, or lives in another ward or stake; the procedure for recording in MLS is the same. (But unless you noticed the post in the other thread, you wouldn't have the full picture of what this question is about.)RussellHltn wrote:This is a new one on me.
