A subtle clarification here: callings in the new ward are new callings in a new ward.
The new ward is a new ward. You are activating MLS on a new computer. Everything comes in from scratch.

At the ward that was divided, you will use the Boundary Realignment screen to check off the families who will be in the new ward. When you do the Send/Receive, they will move out of the former ward and drop out of MLS in the ward that was divided.

The new ward will do a Send/Receive and will receive a batch of membership records (that you will recognize, of course, because they are your friends) as if they had just moved into the new ward as new members. They will not have callings. They will not have home and visiting teachers. They will be new members of the new ward.

Your new bishopric will call them to various callings, they will be sustained in sacrament meeting, and you will enter their new callings into MLS. After a few weeks, you will have a newly functioning ward with an MLS that looks great and is totally up to date.

During these first few weeks, you will want to make a special effort to update the calling information in MLS as quickly as possible and get the information sent on Sunday so that the Church systems can update overnight and members will have access to those resourced allowed by their callings.

You always want to do this, of course. But it is well to make a special effort to be efficient at first, because your new leaders who will be looking for access to all of the LDS Tools that will help them successfully fulfill their new callings.

What an exciting time.

That includes the ward calendar. Not just the activities, but the calendars themselves. (And the rights to those calendars.) All of them will have to be created, either from scratch or with the help of the wizard.
