MLS for two wards on one system

We have a ward who's system board needs to be replaced. The ward is one week behind in processing during tithing settlement, and cannot deposit funds.

We did get a replacement, but without a license or install media, their prospects of getting running or being legal are slim. I have another post about this elsewhere.

Someone suggested that two or more wards can run MLS from the same machine, but neither of us can find an article describing how it may be done. Is it possible? Does a procedure exist? Any existing documentation would be most helpful, given I'm traveling, and the ward clerks would need a walk through.

Thanks

We do it all the time. The link russellhltn provided has all the details. After you add the new unit, the drop down menu will show the unit numbers and you will have to pick the correct one. But every clerk has his unit number memorized anyway, so . . . [grin]

Or on one of our computers the ward has the short (5-digit) number and the branch has the long (7-digit) number. Whatever works. Otherwise, everything is the same.

You may need to call for a unit security reset if you are not able to transmit the first time because you are on a different computer, so schedule the move accordingly.

I believe MLS was designed with the idea of one computer per building. So it shares just fine. Common practice morphed it into one computer per unit.
