Name change

My question is: Where does the name that comes up on the screen when you check in at the temple come from?

We have a sister in our ward who had some difficulty with her married name (Smith)
/maiden name (Jones) on her Church records. When she would check into the temple, her name would come up "Mary Smith Jones" just backwards of what it should be.

We made changes to her name in MLS several months ago. Her name now appears correct when we print out her membership record.

However, now when she goes to the temple, her name comes up as "Mary Smith (Smith)."

How can I get that fixed for her?

In MLS, I'd verify the full name, preferred name and the family name in the household record, but because of the parenthesis, I'd pay particular attention to her maiden name since "Mary Smith (Jones)" would be correct. So that's 4 things to check.

I'd also have her check her name in her LDS Profile. The reason I say that is when I first set mine up, I didn't read the field carefully and put in my full name where I was supposed to put just my preferred first name. So I ended up a repeating last name.

The name that shows up at the temple should be the same as the name the stake presidency or clerk see when they activate the recommend. RussellHltn has identified all of the places to check in MLS if it needs to be changed.

The name comes from the Church membership database, so I do not believe anything in an LDS Account profile would change it.

Just to add: Full Name, Preferred Name and Maiden name are all on the individual record. The household name will be in the household record. So that's a total of 4 items and two different screens to look at.

Thanks for the clarification. I checked the individual record, but not the household record. That is next. :)
