So what do you think, can a "Stake Technology Specialist" have the time to encourage the stake & wards to train and use the calendar plus do all the tech stuff in the Stake? We are on the brink of the Stake Presidency embracing the entire stake to use the lds.org calendar. It seems like a daunting task to get all the bishopric's and Stake leaders up and running and trained. I am thinking that maybe a "Stake Building Specialist" be called to get the Calendar going and maybe even the other lds.org tools. What thoughts do you all have?A "Stake Building Specialist" is a default admin for the stake-level calendars (but not ward-level calendars). "Stake website administrator" is also a default admin for the stake-level calendar, but I believe it also has rights to other applications. russellhltn Community Administrator
Based on the rights I see, it does seem to have more to do with calendering, but it's still not a return to "the old way". It would only work for stake organizations seeking to schedule things. russellhltn Community Administrator

As Stake Technology Specialist, I trained those who needed training on the Calendar, while still doing everything else related to technology. Upon my recommendation, our stake presidency required one person in each ward to function as as Calendar Coordinator (this was sometimes a ward clerk, or executive secretary, or website administrator). For most of them, all I had to do was publish a one-page set of stake-specific guidelines and point them to the online Help system for the Calendar. For a couple of them, I sat down and gave specific training. Then that Calendar Coordinator was responsible for training everyone in their ward.
If you do need someone else to help, a Stake Website Administrator would be a much better choice than a Stake Building Specialist, since a web admin has rights to almost all the tools, and a SBS only has rights to the Calendar.1968leocomeeatabite wrote:I am thinking that maybe a "Stake Building Specialist" be called to get the Calendar going and maybe even the other lds.org tools.
