'Send and Receive' wifi drops out and can't send reports

#1

Post by Rangster »

We have been experiencing the same problem every Sunday when we go to 'send and receive' after tithing or updating MLS records, the transmission drops out and it loses wifi signal. We then have to return later during the week and do a 'send and receive' It only seems to happen at certain times on Sunday and we have investigated 'wifi signal' and having too many people using our wifi access but am still at a loss. The computers (x2) are across from the wireless router separated by 2 brick walls and some interference possible by electrical inside the cupboard where the wifi router is. But it doesn't have a problem sending during the week. Was going to look at hiding the SSID of the wireless router and/or blocking users I don't know from accessing the wireless router but maybe that is too extreme. It just could be wireless speed dropping off at that time on Sunday from our ISP! Any thoughts to problem solve for this one? Greatly appreciate your help.

Get with your stake technology specialist. Administrative computers are normally wired into the network and not dependent on WiFi. You have an unusual arrangement. Your STS, working with your stake Physical Facilities Rep (a high councilor) and the FM Group, should be able to solve this problem for you.
