Printing MLS Reports

I ran into a problem yesterday while attempting to print a deposit report in MLS. I got a pop-up with a frowny face that said "there was an error while preparing the document to print". I tried other MLS reports and I rec'd the same error each time. I attempted to print from other programs and the printer worked just fine, so it seems to be an MLS issue. The only items that would print from MLS were pages that opened in a separate viewer (PDF viewer). Has anyone had a similar issue? Is there a printer settings within MLS that can be changed? Help

Is there more than one printer available for selection in the print dialogue? Is the one selected the same one used in the past for print jobs from MLS? MLS's printer default selection is the printer last used. If someone used a different printer for a print job the default printer will be that printer.

Is the printer used for the MLS print jobs the Windows default printer? Has anything changed recently for that printer, such as an update to the print driver?

Can any reports be printed using any other available printer, such as a PDF printer?

There are a lot more questions I could ask related to printing from MLS. But without knowing what troubleshooting steps have you taken it is hard to tell where the problem lies. If the printer used is the same one used in the past successfully then I would start with simple corrective measures. The first would be to simply reboot the computer. Then I would install MLS on top of the current installation using the full installer found on the RKATS Applications page. Then I would uninstall and reinstall the printer driver.

The FM group did bring in another printer over the weekend, but we were able to install the drivers and it prints fine from every other program. Yes, the new printer is set as the default printer. Normally when printing we would get a pop up asking which printer we wanted to use which would enable us to print to a pdf if needed. Now there is no option, and we just get the error. We tried restarting, rebooting, turning the printer on and off, but then decided it wasn't a printer problem as is worked with other programs. By "full installer", so you mean clicking the link that says "Download and Install MLS"? I'll try uninstalling and re-installing the printer driver as well.

Will re-installing MLS again change any settings or affect budgets/records/reports?

It sounds like MLS is defaulting to the old printer. You'll have to find a print dialog that gives you a choice to select the new printer.

That would be great...any idea where to find the print dialogue?

I'd try printing different things until you see a choice of what to print to. Just go slow and don't fall into your routine of clicking things automatically.

Installing MLS again on top of the current installion does not negatively affect anything. Your data will be as it was. Intsalling MLS on top of itself reinstalls any missing or corrupt files and resets the registry settings that may have been changed or corrupted. It does not affect the data.

MLS should display the print dialogue for any print operation initiated by the user. If you are not getting the print dialogue then there is a problem. Installing MLS on top of the current installation should correct this problem.

There is currently no print dialogue. I'll re-install and see if that corrects the problem -thanks for your help!

I re-installed MLS...and still the same. I'm still not able to print reports. I was however able to print the February financial statements (the preview for those is slightly different). I called support yesterday around 5:30pm and gave them all the info - they were going to call me right back...I'm still waiting :-)
