MLS to CSV appending suffix (Jr, Sr) incorrectly

MLS export of membership and individual palm is appending the suffix (Jr, Sr, II, III) to the preferred name. In other words, when the full name contains a suffix in MLS and the preferred name does not contain the suffix in MLS, an export to CSV will have the suffix appear in the full name (as it should) but the suffix will also be appended to the preferred name (as it should not). This started happening a couple of months ago (Oct-Nov 2012). An MLS export of organization does not produce this error (the preferred name will not have the suffix appended).
