Residing with section of IOS

Every year during tithing settlement we hand the members a copy of their IOS for them to review for accuracy. One sister was not happy with the fact that her IOS says she is residing with her husband, but her husband's IOS says he is residing with himself. She said it makes her feel unimportant. Would it be possible to revise the software so that the IOS shows all those residing at the home, or at least the spouse's name, in the "Residing With" section?

The section titled "Residing With" merely identifies who is the head of household. I guess you could say the section title should really say "Head of Household" rather than "Residing With".

These type of requests are best handled by explaining that this field defaults to the Head of Household is for record keeping purposes only and it is by no means meant insinuate that anyone is any less important. Then leave it at that.

There is a problem with the language that seriously needs to be addressed.. rather than comforting someone by saying that they really are important, we could point out that developers are looking at many changes, but the Church has chosen to develop the online tools as a priority over the MLS database which still has some relics from by-gone-days...
