A ward in my stake has contacted me with an issue in which priesthood ordinations are entered but are lost following a send/receive. The clerk reports that he is able to print the transmissions receipts indicating that the ordination data has been transferred, but that it is no longer visible in MLS locally.

Has anybody else experienced this or a similar issue?

No. Does the membership record come back with the updated information on a subsequent send receive (after allowing time for processing at Church headquarters)? I.e, is the update getting to SL and being processed even though it drops the information locally?

I think this is a bug report to Local Unit Support.

And I also think the information should not disappear locally during the update process.

Another thing to check is look in Clerk Resources at that persons ordinations. I entered an ordination this evening and shortly after the send/receive it was showing up online.
