Changing User Name

I have an unusual request from a sister who wants to change her user name. Don't ask why.....it's a long story... Anyway, I haven't been able to figure out how to do this. I know you can change the password but if you click on "forgot user name" it directs you to the administrator, me, to give you the user name you started with... Going way out, one way would be to have the membership clerk send her records to the "unknown" file in SL as though she had moved and left no forwarding address and then the next week, retrieve the records. Now she would be a new member of the ward and be able to register, using her preferred user name. I hope there is an easier way...:).

What password is it? Is it for MLS or for LUWS or for something else?

If it's for LUWS, I doubt moving membership records around will be of use. I maintained my same LUWS username and password when moving between two stakes.

Only SLC can change LUWS username

You can't figure out how to change the username, because you can't change it. There can be only one username associated with a record number, and only SLC can change it. They generally want a pretty good reason for such a change (although they are certainly willing to make the change if you can supply a good reason).
