Unable to log in to LUWS to update account

Our YSA ward uses the LUWS email broadcast each week to send activities announcements to the ward members. We have been trying to get as many members of the ward registered as possible so they will get the announcements.

Today I had two members who have LDS accounts but were not able to log into LUWS. They were able to sign in to LDS.org just fine, but LUWS would not let them log in. A couple of others were able to log in just fine.

I checked on the registered user list, and it turns out that both of these members are listed as registered, but with old accounts (pre LDS account).

How can I get the system to recognize that they have a current LDS account so they can log in?

How recently did they create their accounts? It can take some time (maybe 48 hours) for things to sync up between the different systems.

When you say they can log into lds.org, are they able to log into the directory and/or the calendar? If not, then perhaps when they created their LDS account, they didn't connect it with their membership record. The reason I ask is some parts of lds.org are open to non-members.

They've both had their accounts for a while. One is a recently returned missionary, so I think it's safe to assume he's had an LDS account for at least two years.

They are able to log into the directory.

They may have to go to the LDS Account logon screen, click "Can't Sign In?", and then click "What if my issue is not liste here?" to contact the LDS Account support team for issue resolution. They need to make sure they fully explain the issue.
