If you click on a person to email them, it pop-ups the email form, but it uses the person's middle name as their first name. So, for example John Doe Jones will show up as Doe Jones <address>.

Huh. So it does. Interesting. Haven't noticed it before because when a person adds their email, they usually go to a single preferred first name.
