Calendar Notification

Is there a way to have the unit web site calendar generate an email message that an event is coming within a day or 2?

Example: An event gets posted to the web site (this can generate an email), say today. The date of the event is 18 Dec. 2009. Does the unit web calendar have the capability to email users a notification the day before the event or some other user defined time period prior to the event?

The only time a LUWS calendar will send a broadcast message is when the calendar event is approved by a web administrator. A web administrator can send a broadcast message at any time. However, it cannot be scheduled to happen at a later date.

It would be great if it could do that, but unfortunately the answer is no.

The suggestion is already posted on the wiki page LUWS Feedback and Suggestions:Calendar in a couple of variations:

Thanks

Thanks for the replies. It's too bad it can't do this. I think more people would use the site if it had this capability. It was brought top my attention that Google calendar can do it and so we will pursue this if there is a fit.

You may want to review the Authorized Church Web Sites policy before looking to go that route.
