The problem is definitely wide-spread. I can get logged in, but not much else is working. I keep seeing the same errors as everyone else reported. Hopefully, things will look better in the morning....hope, hope, hope.Alan_Brown wrote:The LUWS is indeed not working well right now. I am always able to login, but once I have logged in, I get errors ("The requested object does not exist on this server") whenever I go to any page that is not available to the public, meaning any page other than the stake home page or one of the ward home pages.
I wouldn't worry about your ward's web site being corrupt -- it is clearly a system-wide problem at this point.

I'm pretty sure that all users will eventually have to switch over. Any other option would mean that LUWS would have to support two separate login methods forever, whereas the intent is clearly to switch to LDS Account.
But there will definitely be some sort of transition period. How long that will last, I have no idea. I don't know if an "enrollment campaign" will be required, but there will surely come a time when the old login will no longer work. At that point any remaining users who have not switched over will have to create an LDS Account to be able to login.
I know there is pain in this transition, but there are clear indications that the Church is committed to the LDS Account login and that it will be used for all new sites. So once we get through the transition challenges, life should be much better with one login usable on all Church sites.

I wonder if it might be possible to convert existing LUWS accounts to LDSAccounts if the LUWS user name is not already enrolled/registered as an LDS Account user name. ..... Hm?? I wonder if this could help with the transition.Alan_Brown wrote:I'm pretty sure that all users will eventually have to switch over. Oh boy, do I hope so! It has been so hard to get members to register and to tell them they now have to re-register would not be welcome.dmaynes wrote:I wonder if it might be possible to convert existing LUWS accounts to LDSAccounts if the LUWS user name is not already enrolled/registered as an LDS Account user name. ..... Beta
Hopefully, I can help answer some of your questions.
We are in a "beta" period with the transition, so the link was released according to plan, but has been temporarily removed. We hope to have it back up by morning.
The intention is indeed to get everyone using LDS Account as soon as possible. And there should be no campaigning necessary, as we have tried to engineer this in such a way that we can transition people as they come. (However, once we release the link again, we would appreciate as many people going through the test page as possible before we release to production. So feel free to spread the word when you see the link again). Once this goes into "production" we'll be able to recognize either credential sets and guide the user as appropriate just as we do now on the test page. Hope this helps.

I was able to send out an e-mail broadcast this morning, but I am still unable to update the missionary experiences (as an administrator). The pages and submissions appear to work but when you reload the content, the changes are not present.Techgy wrote:The problem is definitely wide-spread. Difficulty with registering members
I don't want to hijack the thread, but I have been working diligently for four months. We started with 62 registered members four months ago. As of today, I have 95 registered members. It takes about 4 or 5 contacts with a member before they seriously think about registering. I probably spend one hour, on average, in order to get one account registered. I have several members who won't update their e-mail addresses. It is very difficult. I would not welcome starting over with just a few registered members.zaneclark wrote:Oh boy, do I hope so! Try missionary experiences
This feature should be working again if you could try the missionary experiences. As a part of this beta release, there will be some residual errors. They are all being logged, and we should have them fixed shortly after they show up. Thanks for all the information this thread is offering us!dmaynes wrote:I was able to send out an e-mail broadcast this morning, but I am still unable to update the missionary experiences (as an administrator).
