Ward Website Logfiles

When people sign on to the ward website,
and view the various pages of the site,
I imagine that somewhere there is a logfile
produced for this.

If so, is there a chance the Ward Website
Admins might someday get a chance to
view these logs or portions of them ?

I know that it would help the admins to
stay motivated to keep the website current,
if they could see that the website was
actually being visited.

Also, by seeing which registered users
most often visit the website, and how
often, it would help them tailor content
that would be most useful for that
audience.

Thanks,
Atticus Ewig

If the log file could be formatted into seperate sections like page views, calender posts, etc. That might help webmasters understand what they should concentrate on.

Also another idea would be a comment submission box to the webmaster so that he knows what the ward would like to see.

If the users clicks "feedback" found in the upper right corner, it will send an email to the admin.

We use Omniture to track web site statistics for LUWS, but these are not broken down by unit, which is why there are no plans to make them available to ward admins.

However, this is a good suggestion. I will forward it to the product manager for LUWS.

So that goes to the Ward Admin, Church Admin or both?

Only the ward admin.

If a user clicks on it, it goes to the admin for that unit.

If a ward/branch admin (green screen user) clicks on it, it goes to the stake admin. If a stake admin clicks on it, it goes to CHQ. At least that's what I've found.

I agree that it would be helpful to see who has logged in and when and what they saw when they were there. It is hard to measure the usefulness of our "Use the Ward Website" campaigns.

I am sure the church has that information, but it is based on a church wide site analysis. So you wouldn't know what the users looked at, unless the church creates this feature in LUWS 2.0
