Food Storage

Post by jackel44-p40 »

I could never find a food storage calculator that kept track of your inventory and how much you needed.

I wrote a simple Excel Spread sheet. Their is not limitations you can change it how you feel.

My goal is for everyone to have their food storage.

You can download it here

I am not a writer ,but I even wrote instructions

I would apprecate any feed back

Hey Jackel,

Great job! I had done a similar thing with Excel trying to get my home storage a little more organized -- but yours is way fancier! Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to transitioning my data when I get home tonight.

Jackel,

Do you mind if I share this with others? What I have in mind is sending it out in a viral email and posting it online. Is that alright with you?

I do not mind if you give it everyone you see. I would rather have people interested in food storage than to get any credit.

I do make revisions, so I do like feedback.

but send away

Thank you Matt. Is there a reply/feedback address you want to include on your page? If so, please post it and I will send a link. That way you can post any revisions on the same page/link and people can go there to see the revisions, or to give you feedback. I am putting together some blogs. One could be a food storage blog with links to your pages, etc. That could also be a resource. If anyone has resources they would like me to add to the Food Storage Blog please let me know and I will be happy to add them.

Possible website referral

Hello,

I just noticed LDS tech this morning and started an account immediately to respond to this forum. Food Storage is definitely a required quest for our family. I found www.trackmyfoodstorage.com once and downloaded their little software program (free, but an upgrade on subscription means more bells and whistles) and it seemed fairly effective on tracking. I haven't used it for a while. I am going to check out your excel sheet as I used them for almost everything. There are so many variables with food storage (what size can, how long has it been there, what if you need to use one and rotate one in) that it almost has to be a customizable template, so to speak. I'm going to jump back in to that website and take another look at my account and see if it's improved.

You are right what if the person is allergic to wheat, You have to supplement with beans. Stand alone food storage calculators good or bad don't let you put the ratios you require.
