Donation Recorded On the Wrong Date

I submitted my and my wife's donations for November and December on 31 December. I went to do my taxes today and this donation was not recorded until 01 January. That is going to throw our finances off immensely. Is there any way to have this corrected?

Take a look at the tax receipt which should be available on-line. That will tell you how the donation was dated for tax purposes.

In general, I think it would be a bad idea to wait until the very last day for something financially important. There's just too many things that can go wrong.

Right. As I stated, it got recorded as the next day.

My question is about getting the mistake corrected. I log the details of all of my donations in an Excel spreadsheet, including the date submitted. The date logged in my records is from 2016. The website decided to log it the next day in 2017. I'm just looking to get this fixed.

You can work with your ward financial clerk to check with CHQ.

You might want to take note of the following from the FAQ:

Q14. If I make an online donation on December 31, when will my donation be officially added to my donation records?

A14. Online donations are recorded with the date the donation was submitted. All times and dates are recorded using the mountain time zone. For example, if a donation is submitted online on Friday, December 31, at 11:45 p.m. mountain time, the donation will be recorded with a December 31 date even though the donation may not be processed until the next business day.
