community iphone development

since the development of iphone apps requires specialized knowledge, it might be nice to have the Church get a developer certificate for iphone development for Church managed iphone apps and then turn the development over largely to the community, managing what gets released.
I would think that there are a lot of people that would contribute to stuff like that just for the chance to work on it while the Church could guide the direction of what should be made and released.
Anyway, just a thought.
