We are looking for a great audio solution for our large high council room (seats 15+). Would like any recommendations for a "commercial quality" system along the lines of what PolyCom offers. Ideally, the device would double as a regular speakerphone using our regular phone line, but also be able to connect to a laptop or PC using a USB connection. Thanks.

A small note of caution. no one knows when yet, but meetinghouses will someday move from POTS lines to VOIP. Again I don't think anyone when, but, it would be sad if you'd recently invested heavily in a POTS speaker phone that was not compatible with VOIP.

Thanks. We're definitely getting something that is VOIP compatible - most of our calls use PVC, Skype or ZOOM as it is.

We purchased a used Polycom Soundstation IP 6000 with 2 mics on Ebay. This is a VOIP phone. It is powered with POE from a network switch. It sounds great, picks up and can be heard by everyone around the High Council table, is easy to setup when we use it and only requires one cable (network) from the wall. We put the phone in the center with one of the mics stretched toward each end of the table. It cost $179, but you can find them for a little less if you are patient.
