Networking the Epson 955WH Projector

For years, at each stake conference, I've been connecting a projector for the cultural hall congregation to closed circuit video. It's a pain to run the cable and power and tape them down. Now we have one of the new Epson projectors with networking. It would make me very happy if there was a cost effective way to broadcast the video through the wireless LAN. I would then only have to connect the A/C power to the projector. This is unrelated to the webcast that I also set up.

Two issues -
1) Cost effectively, how to convert the video to a usable signal for the LAN.
2) I always turn off WiFi for the webcast so I would need to connect both the source and the destination using the AT&T Access point and connect a temporary WiFi bridge for the projector.

Considering both issues, I'm not sure that this "solution" will save me very much effort. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

3) What you're proposing would have a long video delay making it impossible to sync the projected video with the overhead sound system.

Hint: To cover your cords without using tape, grab a couple of mats found near the drinking fountains and throw them over your cords where they cross the aisles. Route the rest under chairs to reach the projector.

I think the network connection is to wirelessly transmit the screen of a computer. I'm not sure how well that will work with live video.

I agree with the mat idea. I've done that myself. It's quick and easy. Best yet, you don't have "helpful" people pull up the wires for you - tape and all - leaving you with a royal mess. You might work through the stake to get extra mats from FM. I've got a roll of carpet leftover from the last renovation that I use for our chapel.

Thanks for your responses, everyone.

This would be a private LAN separate from the building's. I was hoping that delays with transcoding or other necessary signal processing would be imperceptible. Any buffering as occurs for the webcast would absolutely be a show stopper.

I've spent no effort on this yet and if this concept has no chance of working, now is a good time to know.

By the way, here is an interesting link:

If you don't have extra mats you might try this. You get some plastic bullnose corner pieces for drywall. you can set these at Home Depot and other home repair places. You end up putting a line of tape on the center of the molding and then put it over you wires and tape the two sides. This help reduces the amount of tape is on the cords and you can fish more wires through it if needed. Then when you are done pull up the two last pieces of tape and you can save the molding for next time.
