Who gets a projector?

We've had issues in the past with the building projector for the stake center disappearing right before it is needed for stake conference or another event. I know that projectors are approved for each building in the stake. I've heard that stakes were approved as well, but I can't find any reference to it. If this is true, can anyone point me to where this would be documented?

Projectors are not supposed to leave the building. Projectors are authorized for each meetinghouse with a satellite receiving system, and a stake center gets two. I haven't seen it in writing, but I have always gotten this same answer from the FM Group, so I think it is in their handbook.

You may need to put the projectors under lock and key.

When we got a new building stocked with all new equipment - It was a Stake Center (We received 2 Projectors for this purpose) and it was also designated as having 4 Seminary Rooms (We received 4 Projectors for this purpose) and lastly, a Building projector.

Prior to this, it was always my understanding that each meetinghouse that had a sattelite receiver also had a projector, but i believe that is not the case anymore as we start broadcasting - I believe that each meetinghouse should have one.

You can check online - it used to contain information about what the Meetinghouse Library is supposed to have with technology, but it looks like it's been taken down and replaced with a generic message that says to ask FMG for the 'current guidelines' - which end up being too subjective since they're annual raise is based on not spending money.

It was taken down because it was applicable only to some areas and not the entire church. But I agree it's a problem when there's no way to verify what should be in a library independent of the FM group.

We had issues like this all the time. I started having the projector locked in the agent Bishop's office a few weeks before stake conference to keep it from happening. When we moved to an HD broadcast, one of the first expenses was the purchase of an HD capable projector and laptop for each building. We keep these locked up and are only accessible by the technology specialist and assistant technology specialists. We break them out for stake meetings where videos are to be shown, and I tend to use them for any stake function where I'm asked to assist (Young Womens' camp firesides, stake leadership meetings, special presentations by the Stake Presidency, Family History events), and for General Conference. We also currently have 2 stakes using the same building for Stake Conference, so they get used for both stakes conferences.
