IE 11 rendering issue / portal interaction

I'm having an issue, where if the portal is enabled in IE 11 (Options > Connections > Lan Settings > Use automatic configuration script is selected) then familysearch.org renders as a list of links with the "Make Connections", "Share a Memory" etc images that normally appear in a rotator at the top of the page, now appear statically, one below the other at the bottom of the page. Also, in fhc.familysearch.org, the links that normally appear at the top of the page are missing. Has anyone else seen this and are they aware of the issue? I reset IE, but that did not solve the issue.
