Are there guidelines for history center admins?

Stake clerk here. We opened a new family history center in one of the buildings in our stake. Long story short, there are some disputations over who should be allowed to be admins on the machines. We cannot find any church guidelines for who should be allowed to be an admin so we were wondering if anyone here knows? Or is this a situation where the stake president can make the call? Thanks.

The stake technology specialist has primary responsibility for maintaining the computers in the FHC, so he definitely needs administrative access to all the computers.

Beyond that, I don't see any specific policy, except that the Policy and Guidelines For Computers in Family History Centers says that the STS "Takes direction from the stake presidency regarding the management of Church computers in family history centers."

In our stake, I (the STS) am the only one with Admin access to computers. The usernames and passwords used for that access are in a confidential document that the stake president has (in case I am somehow incapacitated). In our case, the FHC director is not particularly technical, so there would be no reason for her to have admin access anyway.

I did find a support article 103751 that says that when a new FHC director is called, the previous director will "Provide you with the Administrator passwords for the computers."

What kind of FHC? A real one authorized by the Family History Department, or is this something the local leaders created? Aebrown has pointed you to the document for a real FHC. If this is a local creation, then I'd say it's up to the Stake President.

Our stake works the same as Aebrown has described. I'm the STS and have the passwords. None of the past Directors have been technical, so they have not.
