I received the following email from someone in my Stake.
we are having a huge problem with the dell computer that is to be hooked to the Cannon film reader, the computer will not accept the password and SLC support told Ruth, my computer gal, that this would have to be done by the stake consultant. We have to have this fixed by the end of this week. Ruth would like you to give her a call at her work #### and ask for Ruth. She can make herself available to work with you to get this taken care of. Her email addy is on the to: bar. I will check in tomorrow for your answer and if you cannot reach me please please call Ruth. Ruth can speak computer language to you were I can't. This is urgent since we cannot open the center until this is resolved.
Any suggestions on how they should proceed? Has anyone experienced this?

I know it is a long shot to ask here but I though it couldn't hurt to try. :)

It sounds like the problem is that "the computer will not accept the password," not anything to do with the Canon film reader. But it's not clear which password is being discussed. Is it the Windows password? That should be easy enough to address, since the computer should have been configured by the stake technology specialist. Or does the film reader software have a separate password? That seems unlikely.

Sounds like a new computer situation. Assuming the computer was sent by the Family History Department for a FHC (and FM Group didn't get the wrong order, or mix things up), a call to the FHD should get you the password.

Thanks for your help! I think they're getting there.
