Okay, just got a reply from FamilySearch, " We are aware of this issue and the Engineers are working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible."

I'm having same issues. I have uninstalled the software and re-installed it twice now and when I click the shortcut to open it, I get a java virtual machine error. We are having a YSA ward competition right now and this is making it hard to contribute! Any fixes or help would be appreciated.

It's a temporary fix, but you could try going back to a previous version of Java, Java 7, or Java 6. If you are using a Linux OS, you need to use Java 6.
