I sent you more information in a private message. Here is information online about the various Family History callings.

The standard name for the calling when it's referenced on LDS.org and in Church record-keeping tools is "Indexing Director." Unfortunately, I couldn't find a lot of training specific to that calling on LDS.org. It looks like they are adding new sections (the link above has a couple of calling sections marked "NEW").

From my understanding, you will work under the direction of the high priest group leader in the ward, who is in charge of family history, and you may also receive instruction from the stake indexing director, if there is one.

Ward indexing directors don't have access to any reports on LDS.org or FamilySearch.org currently, but my understanding is that that will change when the new browser-based indexing program is released sometime this year. I'd recommend following the FamilySearch blog to stay up-to-date with what's going on in indexing and family history in general.

You may have opportunities to organize ward indexing activities or do one-on-one training. You may also be responsible for generally spreading the word in your ward about indexing. You can also give recommendations for an indexing assistant director or indexing workers be called to help with the work, if needed. Look for opportunities to involve the youth in indexing and family history work, along with other members – that seems to be an emphasis recently.
