Install LDS Indexing system on Linux Mint 17

I am using a Linux Mint system and had the LDS Indexing system installed but have since installed a new OS. I need help installing the Family Search Indexing system on Linux Mint 17.

About halfway down the responses, one mentions that this method discussed in this thread works on Mint 17. I have no experience with Linux myself so am only hoping this will help you.
