FamilySearch Indexing Bug

Postby seanmcox-p40 » Sun Mar 16, 2008 10:18 am

I have found that FamilySearch Indexing fails to function when Java Advanced Imaging ImageIO Tools 1.1 is installed. (This is a Java add-on which expands Java's ability to read and write to various image formats. It can be found at: https://jai-imageio.dev.java.net/)

Having recently reinstalled the package, I can recall that I did a custom install with all options selected. I had installed the JAI ImageIO Tools some time back, but running into trouble when I originally installed FamilySearch Indexing, I suspected an incompatibility due to the error message, and uninstalled JAI ImageIO Tools, which resolved my problem. I recently reinstalled as the package is useful for the projects I am developing.

My machine is a PC with Windows Vista.
FamilySearch Indexing version is: 1.1230
Core Library version is: 5.1230
I18N version is: 1.1230
Java version is: 1.6.0_05-b13

The error occurs whenever I try to actually open a batch I've downloaded. The error is as follows:

Never Mind

Postby seanmcox-p40 » Sun Mar 16, 2008 7:55 pm

Nevermind. User error, apparently. There was a dependent package (kind of). It's required for certain functions, which apparently I don't use in my development. Apparently FamilySearch Indexing does use said functions.
