Unable to Listen to Scriptures in Female Voice

I love the feature of being able to choose a male voice or a female voice when listening to the scriptures. I have it set to hear a female voice, but since needing to re-download the app, it is 'defaulting' to the male voice. And yes, I've made sure that 'female' is selected, and it still gives me the male voice version.
Is this a known issue, or am I doing something wrong?

When the female voice is selected, the male voice still does the chapter headings, just as the female voice does the chapter headings when the male voice is chosen. Is that happening?

Have you tried toggling the setting to male, then back to female, to reset it?

I have tried switching back to the male and then to the female, and it doesn't help, unfortunately.
I'm hearing the chapter headings in the female voice, and the main chapter in the male voice when I try to use the app. Actually, that's what tipped me off to the fact that I might be having an issue.

Did you download the audio recordings in advance before listening? If you have the male recordings downloaded, it might be prioritizing those over the female recordings.

Nope. Have not downloaded a thing. (Other than the app, that is!)

The latest update has fixed this issue. Thank you all for your answers (and to the great tech people who ultimately fixed the issue)! :D
