My first attempt was using AVS video converter, and the lip sync was terrible so I tried DVD Flick and it was right on. In the past I've found that lip sync issues can usually be fixed by having the latest codecs installed, I like to use the k-lite codec packs.

Yes. A Torrent link to a DVD iso would be great. As long as the Church doesn't mind you distributing. I have 10Mb upload rate and could seed for a few weeks straight.

Are those free? Where do I find them? I used whatever my computer had or came with DVD Flick.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

For this particular video, an ISO file would be great! Not too many other videos would be like that. Just ones that are most likely to be used in their entirety.

I don't mind posting a link, just want some reassurance first that this would be an acceptable thing to do, since it is copyrighted.

In general, you should not be posting copyrighted material on your own site. For permission, contact the Intellectual Property Office.
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.

A few years ago, in a very short thread in these forums, the idea of the church making some broadcasts available as ISO file downloads to key individuals was discussed. One of the points I made then was:
When you consider how many AV specialists and technology specialists throughout the church are recording the various broadcasts to tape or disk and making copies for meetinghouse libraries, there is a huge duplication of effort going on.

I know that we can download conference sessions or individual talks and then use DVD authoring software to create disk images for burning. But if the authoring process was done once by HQ and the ISO image file or files were made available for download as suggested by rrhintze, the combined time savings across the church would be tremendous.
At the time, I remember being surprised at the lack of response from anyone else on the subject. But our numbers were much smaller back then.

Encrypted broadcasts, in particular, are problematic for us. Our satellite receiver sometimes has problems getting authorized or staying authorized. When this happens, we get a black screen with the text "Not Authorized". Sometimes it recovers quickly, other times not.

In advance of this last broadcast, I programmed our DVR to record the first two broadcasts (one English and the other Spanish) of the training. Remembering that the training went overtime the last time, I even added extra recording time. On Friday evening I went to the church to copy the recordings to DVD and found that the receiver had never gotten authorized and my recordings were useless. I called Satellite Support and we eventually power cycled the receiver to get it to work. By then, the third broadcast had already begun. So it wasn't until Saturday morning that I was able scan two new recordings to make sure that I didn't have any gaps in the recordings and copy them to DVD. Had there been any problems with these recordings, I only had one more shot at getting them recorded before our scheduled meeting to view them. That was cutting it too close for me. Next time, I'll connect a second recording device and record the English and Spanish channels at the same time.

If we were given the option to download a disc image file of such broadcasts, much time would be saved and stress avoided over the current distribution method. Such downloads could be made available through a portal only available to, say, the Stake Presidency and STS.
