Makes sense on the text of the meeting, while the last one was available same-day, it is possible that things were not finalized until very late in the preparations for the broadcast.

As to the archives, here's the link. Found that in the 'news and events' article for the broadcast, which was itself directly linked to from the 'Worldwide Leadership Training' link on the lds.org homepage.

Can any one tell me if we will be able to download the Video from worldwide leadership this coming week so that It can be put on a dvd for local use with out having to rely on having an internet connection.

I know the training has been posted at http://lds.org/broadcasts/archive/world ... 2?lang=eng

This posting does not have an ablity to download the video currently only watch.

Thank you,

Oops. I thought I had it, but was in a hurry to get out the door and didn't check it out thoroughly. Disregard.

As reported in an earlier post, it can only be downloaded at present if you use some third-party tool to capture the video stream. I have no knowledge of whether that will change, but since the November 2010 WWLT only offers a streaming version, I think it's a reasonable assumption that no download version will be offered for the February 2011 WWLT.

But you might also check with your stake technology specialist; he may have recorded the actual satellite broadcast and can put it on a DVD for you. That's what we did in our stake.

aebrown wrote:Unfortunately it is not available via Menu > Serving in the Church, as Elder Nelson said it would be. From there you can only see the November 2010 training. And both the November 2010 and the February 2011 WWLT pages have a dropdown list for "Select another training", but neither one links to the other (their respective dropdown lists include only the one training you are already looking at).

So the links need a bit of work to make this more accessible.
When I select the Serving in the Church menu item, the resultant page has a link at the bottom of the right hand column that invites you to View Worldwide Leadership Training Online

Between my post and your post, someone fixed the link. When I posted, it went to the November 2010 WWLT; now it goes to the February 2011 WWLT.

That's definitely progress, but it still seems odd that the two WWLT pages don't link to each other, even though they have an obvious dropdown that should provide such linkage.

Is there an e-mail distribution list that we can sign up for to know when these broadcasts will occur? We used to receive paper copies of the schedules from the Stake Presidency. My reason is that if I had know ahead of time that there were multiple broadcasts staring Friday afternoon I could have recorded a clean version to DVD ahead of time for our Stake Presidency to watch at their convenience Sat morning prior to our Stake Conf this weekend. Thx.

How about we make some formal request to allow downloading of these files. The files are there already. Make it available for download after logging in if need be. I like the option for the fact that I do not have a clean copy of the Worldwide Leadership training and the Presidency has asked me to have it ready to play again. I never want to rely on an internet stream.

Please make these videos available for download.

I used the feedback link on the video to request this. Hopefully if this gets enough attention, the change will happen.

A download would be nice!

I agree that having a dowload would be nice. I wonder if the reason to not have it available is a storage/bandwidth concern. I noticed the video isn't being stored on the Church servers, but instead being hosted by brightcove and being streamed from the edgfcs.net network.

I used two programs to get it on DVD, and the quality was great, but it was a long process. First used a program called StreamTransport to grab the RTMPE stream. Then used DVD Flick to convert & burn it to DVD.

How is the lip sync? I used DVD Flick this past weekend to convert some MP4s to Video DVD, but the lip sync was far enough off to be distracting. I didn't have time to play with it to figure out how to fix it. The MP4 played back just fine on my iPod, so the problem wasn't in the source.
